# What is Streamlock?

Streamlock is a token launchpad where **all** tokens are locked until price targets or time conditions are met. No more worrying about your bags getting rugged and portfolio decimated in a week.

**The core idea**: When you buy tokens on Streamlock, they're locked until the conditions are met such as a specific target price or time duration. This allows for memecoins with bagworking community and cults to grow organically and thrive. No more vamps, no more rugs, no more half-fucked dev.

## The Problem Streamlock Solves

Current memecoin landscape is broken:

* **Bundled farms**: Advanced wallet tooling allows for fraudulent and artificial trading volume, holders, and engagement.
* **Pajeets exiting for a McBurger**: The broken landscape creates and favours paper hands, emphasizing on attaining consistent $0.10 gains on a $1000 position size.
* **CT with attention span of a 5 yo**: Tokens are abandoned prematurely, preventing any organic community growth.

## Key Features

### Price/Time-Gated Unlocks

Your tokens are held in a non-custodial escrow — [Locksmith](/streamlock-docs/core-concepts/locksmith.md) for new pools, Streamflow for legacy / opt-in pools — with conditions attached. When the pool's milestone target is hit, the pool freezes, then an unlock window opens where you can sell or withdraw.

### Anti-Whale Protection

We prevent every address from holding more than 1% of a token's supply, by routing excess tokens to a milestone-anchored time-lock. The cliff is 67 days from the later of buy time or the token's first price-milestone hit; after cliff, tokens linearly vest over another 67 days. Whales who buy into a fast-pumping token can't lock in timing guarantees independent of the token's performance — the milestone anchor makes them live through 67 days post-milestone before their excess becomes claimable. The time-lock runs on the same escrow backend as the primary stream — Locksmith by default, Streamflow for legacy pools.

### Zero-Sum Gaming

Streamlock includes a unique gaming layer where holders can bet on outcomes (like poker). Winners gain claim rights to losers' locked positions - without actually moving tokens until unlock.

Streamlock is live on **Solana Mainnet**. The core mechanics (buying, milestone lifecycle, streaming, unlocking) and gaming infrastructure (sessions, disputes, finalization) are fully functional. The gaming operator rake (2%) is still in development.
